"The Spirit of Autumn Awaits"

http://artdiscoveredonline.co.uk/art-gallery/the-spirit-of-autumn-waits/

I paint original oil paintings which are heavily inspired by Sussex, England. My subjects are modern contemporary landscape paintings, seascape paintings and animal paintings on large canvas using thick oil paint.

On my art sites you will see Sussex meadow paintings, woodland path paintings, English landscape paintings, beautiful animal paintings and seascape paintings. Each one has a unique story and sometimes mystical elements within it.

I like expressionist paintings and impressionist paintings and have developed a painting style that sits between these two. I have paintings for sale at my home studio and online art galleries. As a child, I taught myself to draw and paint by copying animals and horses out of books on an almost daily basis then in 1979 I did a foundation course at Chelsea and then a degree course at Brighton where I graduated in 1982 with a fine art degree in sculpture. I then worked in a studio on the seafront for a while making sculptures with an architect for clubs and hotels.

On moving to East Grinstead in the late 80's, I began painting for an art agent that specialised in animal, people and bespoke portraits and soon became skilled at painting dogs and horses in a classical style. I also took on mural painting commissions and wrote and illustrated a few children's books.

In the late 90's I began teaching art adult education courses for Central Sussex College as well as running my own art courses. I sell my paintings mostly in on-line galleries but also through real world galleries and exhibitions. I have exhibited at the Mall galleries in London, Chelsea open exhibition, local galleries such as Chequer Mead, East Grinstead, The Hawth Theatre, Sheffield Park, Lingfield, Brighton festival, Shoreham gallery and many others.

My goals are to: a) to paint a masterpiece one day b) help other people to get the thrill from their creating their own art that I get.

 "Breaking Waves"

http://artdiscoveredonline.co.uk/art-gallery/breaking-waves/

In 2011, after moving to the coast, I felt inspired to paint again.  In my work I try to capture the immensity, wildness and beauty of the sea and sky through how I feel when I look at them and every day is different - the weather, mood, colour, movement and light are forever changing.

ADO Artist Claudine PĂ©ronne

My immersion in the arts world began in 2006 as I started an MA course in Transpersonal Arts Therapy at the University of Chichester. The course was in no way about learning art or 'producing' artwork. It was mainly experiential with the practice of Authentic Movement, the use of Creative Arts and the keeping of a journal at its core. The point of departure was Authentic Movement practised eyes closed focussing on the body feelings and sensations and inner images.  Movement was immediately followed by a drawing 'depicting' our experiences.

Those pictures which came to life often in a flash became the roots from which my art grew. Though this wasn't a requirement of the course I felt compelled to work on these images between the fortnightly course meetings and spent a considerable amount of time reworking them mainly in the form of pastel drawings and small clay sculptures.  The arts gradually became a vital and integral part of my life and I carried on working in this fashion until 2011.

The pictures I create now are mainly small animals silhouettes drawings, often romantic. I still make small clay sculptures and in 2012 I began painting seashells in the same style as my pictures. I cant recall what led me to paint shells but I like their connection with the natural world and the depths of the sea and I like to think that their presence in my art as well as the animals silhouettes' still carry traces of the dreamy shadowy world within: the original ground from which my art emerged.

"River"

http://artdiscoveredonline.co.uk/art-gallery/river/

My work is abstract and inspired by landscape and natural environments, particularly in capturing fleeting moments that create visual drama, be it changing light, contrasting colour and texture or the effects of weather. The dramatic landscapes and skies of the Pennines, Northern Ireland and Snowdonia are the main inspiration for much of my work. I work mainly in oils on canvas but also create mixed media relief pieces, and drawings on paper using inks and varnish. Strong colour contrasts and use of texture are key elements I use in creating my oil paintings, drawings and mixed media pieces.

ADO Artist Patricia Bentley

"Beginning of Time"

http://artdiscoveredonline.co.uk/art-gallery/beginning-of-time/

Using the theme of landscape this body of work explores the concept of other realms, unworldly places beyond this time and space.  The results are landscapes that perhaps appear unresolved - even prehistoric.  On further examination the viewer may glimpse a world of a different time and space ... an introduction to places we may otherwise not know ... but inwardly suspect they exist.

"Winter"

http://artdiscoveredonline.co.uk/art-gallery/winter/

I'm a Ramsgate born artist having lived in Australia and other parts of the U.K.  On returning to live in my home town, my ongoing passion for art saw me enrolling at Canterbury UCA studying for a BA in fine art which I completed in 2008.

I have shown my work in various local art exhibitions with some success and also participating in Ramsgate Open Studios on several occasions.

"Forgotten City"

I tend to work mainly in oil paint on canvas and work instinctively to create an image of landscape in a more mystical/abstract way.

ADO Artist Mel Graham

"Peace at Last"

http://artdiscoveredonline.co.uk/art-gallery/peace-at-last/

Internationally selling and self-taught artist Mel Graham produces contemporary emotive work that touches the soul. Her endless landscapes and dramatic seascapes focus on the sheer and raw beauty of space and nature. Her colours are vibrant and brush strokes vivid, with colours chosen entirely by mood.  Her studio and adjoining gallery are located in Nottingham, UK. The light and space provides the opportunity for large and striking work to be produced. Inspiration is drawn from the sea, and the empty expanse of nature’s finest.

"Surf"

http://artdiscoveredonline.co.uk/art-gallery/surf/

Driven by her passion to paint, new work is always available. Work often takes weeks to complete, or sometimes only hours. Mel generally works on about four pieces at once, leaves them, and then works again, re-defining and re-energising her work.

"Dawn Rising"

http://artdiscoveredonline.co.uk/art-gallery/dawn-rising/

The canvas' Mel works on are artist quality, and the paints are deeply textured and high grade. Her favourite paints are the buttery Golden Acrylics, with Teal and Magenta coming in as her absolute loves. They always make a show somewhere on each canvas ... Mel Graham has sold hundreds of paintings from the UK to Australia, The Falkland Islands to San Francisco.  She is also a full time mum and loves guinea pigs.
